Search Recap: April 12-13 2025

April 12-13 South Fraser SAR was part of a multi-agency response to locate a missing 6-year-old boy in the Fraser Heights neighbourhood of Surrey. After an overnight search, we are incredibly relieved to share that he was found safe.

Over 100 dedicated search and rescue volunteers from across the province were involved in bringing this search to a successful conclusion. We are immensely grateful to the mutual aid teams who responded to our call without hesitation:

Central Fraser Valley Search and Rescue Society, Coquitlam Search and Rescue, Mission Search & Rescue Society, Ridge Meadows Search and Rescue, North Shore Rescue, Kent Harrison Search and Rescue, Prince Rupert Ground Search and Rescue, Sparwood Search and Rescue, Kimberley Search and Rescue, Sunshine Coast Search and Rescue, Comox Valley Search & Rescue, Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue – Richmond – Station 10 and PEP Air. Your commitment and collaboration exemplify the strength of BC’s SAR community.

We also want to acknowledge the Fraser Heights neighbourhood. It was heartening to see such a connected and supportive community come together to help a family in need.
