What an incredible day at the 2025 Surrey Vaisakhi Parade, with an estimated 600,000 people in attendance — one of the largest Vaisakhi celebrations outside of India!
South Fraser SAR volunteers were proud to support Surrey Police Service and other partner agencies in providing assistance throughout the event. Our primary role was helping to reunite families and friends who became separated in the large crowds. Thanks to quick action by our volunteers and enforcement agencies, we were able to help bring over 27 families safely back together.
Being part of such a vibrant and caring community was truly a privilege. It was inspiring to see the spirit of celebration, generosity, and support that filled the streets of Surrey.
A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat with us, ask questions, or simply say hello. Events like this highlight how strong our community is — and how important it is that we all work together to look out for one another.
