South Fraser Search and Rescue volunteers will be out during the parade to help ensure everyone’s safety and re-unite families that may have gotten separated. During the parade this page will be updated with reports of missing (and found) people.
Tips to ensure you have a great time at the 2026 Surrey Vaisakhi Parade!
- Take a group photo at the start of the day to have an accurate clothing description in case someone goes missing
- Write a caregiver’s name and phone number on a child’s arm or clothing in case you get separated
- Set a pre-arranged meeting spot where your group can reconnect if anyone gets separated
- Expect limited cell service due to large crowds; use text messages when possible, and have a backup plan in case your phone battery runs out
- Report a missing person immediately to any police officer or Search and Rescue volunteer. You don’t need to wait to make a report.
- Leave pets at home for their safety and comfort.
- The missing persons reunification number is 777-826-0727 – we recommend sending text messages to it as cell service may be unreliable during the parade due to the number of peoples
